E. Jay Peck, Of Counsel

Jay Peck is one of the preeminent litigators in Utah, with more than four decades of experience in assisting clients with a wide variety of litigation matters. Mr. Peck is recently returned from a sabbatical during which he served as Associate European Area Legal Counsel for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Before joining Smith Hartvigsen in 2005, Mr. Peck was a shareholder with the law firm of Nielsen & Senior, PC and a partner with Nielsen, Henriod, Gottfredson and Peck. He received his bachelor of science (economics) and juris doctor degrees from the University of Utah in 1968 and 1971, respectively, with the honors of Order of the Coif, Society of Bar and Gavel, and Traynor Legal Writing Award (co-recipient). His experience ranges from management and trial of complex litigation matters to litigation avoidance strategies.
